Human beings are capable of fellowship with other persons and communication with God (Genesis 1:26-27). We have the ability to reason. God gave us freedom to choose whether or not to obey him (Deuteronomy 30:15, 19).

Why is becoming a Christian necessary?
All people sin (Romans 3:23). Only through Jesus, God offers a way to true fellowship with God. A person must accept Jesus, turn from sin, and enter a new relationship with God (John 3:3-7).
