Rev. Clarence C. Moore was born November 28, 1955 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina to Clarence and Lee Hilda Hooks Moore. He is the eldest of five children.
He attended the public schools of Winston-Salem. Upon graduation, he enrolled at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro where he received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in May 1978. While at the University, Rev. Moore received various awards and recognition. He was voted Outstanding Senior by the graduating class of 1978 and was chosen by the Chancellor of the University to serve on the Honor Code Committee and advisory Council.
Rev. Moore accepted Jesus as his personal Savior at an early age and was baptized in the Canaan Missionary Baptist Church, Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He served as president of the Youth Choir and participated in other youth activities.
In September 1978, Rev. Moore went to Kokomo, Indiana to work as a Purchasing Expeditor for Delco Electronics. While in Kokomo he joined the Second Missionary Baptist Church. In 1982, he was ordained a deacon of the Second Missionary Baptist Church. On January 15, 1984, the Second Missionary Baptist Church licensed Rev. Moore into the Gospel Ministry. In September 1984, he enrolled in Central Baptist Theological seminary and graduated in May 1990, with a Bachelor of Theology degree. On October 22, 1988, Rev. Moore was ordained into the Gospel Ministry by the Second Missionary Baptist Church.
While with Second Missionary Baptist Church, Rev. Moore served in many capacities - Minister of Education, Director of BTU, Dean of Church congress, organizer and director of Melvin Bellamy Gospel Choir and Male Chorus, organizer and director of junior church Department and coordinator of New Member Orientation Class.
Rev. Moore was called to pastor Northside New Era Missionary Baptist Church on April 24, 1990.
He is married to the former Hope Obie and they are the proud parents of three children - Curtis Ryan, Courtney Lynn, and Christen Leigh.
The Northside New Era Missionary Baptist Church has been blessed with an outstanding leader and educator. The evidence of his skills and leadership is visible to all that come into our midst.
